Greetings brothers,I want to thank you for your cooperation and commitment over the years.
We have accomplished much together and continued to build upon these efforts in strengthening the Association. I would like to highlight just a few of the larger accomplishments:
- We continued to strengthen the operational efficiency within the Association.
- We have added chapters under our new chartering standards.
- In collaboration with the Atlanta chapter, we have created a national fundraising template for “Honoring our Fathers,” which occurs on Father’s Day weekend in select chapters nationwide.
- In partnership with Club Corp and the Commerce Club, we formalized the Morehouse Alumni Club – a forum for alumni engagement both locally and nationally when alumni visit Atlanta.
- We have assisted in launching two alumni affinity organizations for alumni health professionals and attorneys.
- In 2015, in collaboration with the Health Professional Alumni, we started the Scholarship Academy to help students identify and procure their own scholarship dollars. Last semester, students found more than $30,000 worth of scholarship funds for themselves.
- We continue with the Morehouse 300 campaign which, to date, has raised more than $153,000 for graduating senior scholarships.
- The Morehouse Alumni Mentoring initiative is growing and gaining momentum and recognition.
I continue to believe that Morehouse alumni have the power to do many things. But we must continue to work together and support causes that advance our alma mater. The Morehouse Alumni Association is such a cause.
As always, there are three things that you can do to help us move forward!
1) Join or renew your membership with the Association.
2) Become active in a local chapter.
3) Support the Association and the College with your gifts of time, talent, and tender.
