In November we launched the first mentoring pilot program in Atlanta, and it went exceptionally well. January is National Mentoring Month, and we are celebrating by recruiting mentors for the mentoring pilot program in Atlanta.  We also challenge alumni nationwide to consider mentoring wherever they may be.

National Mentoring Month

The impact of mentoring can never be overstated.

  • Take a look at some of the mentor relationships of these prominent African-American brethren.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. was mentored by Benjamin E. Mays.
  • Maynard Jackson was mentored by Andrew Young.
  • T.J. Blocker was mentored by Fredrick Map and Henry McBay.
  • Quincy Jones was mentored by Ray Charles.
  • Denzel Washington was mentored by Sidney Poitier.
Don’t you want to be among the ranks of some of the world’s great mentors? Get involved today! The Morehouse Alumni Mentoring program only asks you to volunteer two (2) days a year. Volunteering just two days can make a lifetime of difference to a young man.
